Laura James


Laura James Ecker is an American actor born and raised in Upstate New York. Daughter of actor John James, who played the iconic character Jeff Colby in the hit TV show Dynasty, and model/animal rights activist Denise James, former Miss Australia and second runner-up for Miss World. The entertainment industry runs in the family; her grandfather was Herb Oscar Anderson, the morning drive-time personality on WABC Radio in New York City during the 1960s.


After college, Laura went on to compete on the TV show AMERICA’S NEXT TOP MODEL and ended up being crowned the cycle 19 winner. After the show, she began auditioning and pursing her acting career full time. She recurred on the CBS show S.W.A.T. and has guest starred on shows including NCIS: HAWAII, AMERICAN WOMAN, GRANDFATHERED, and HELLO LADIES. On the independent film side, Laura recently starred in a Western, SILENT THUNDER, and six weeks after giving birth to her first child, produced and starred in the film TETHER. You can also catch Laura on Netflix in the movie A CALIFORNIA CHRISTMAS: CITY LIGHTS. In her free time, Laura spends her days tending to her 12 acres, 5 goats, 14 chickens, and her daughter. Her happiest days are spent on their tractor and in nature, with her husband, daughter and animals.
