Born and raised in Southern California, Anne received a BA in Theater from UCLA, where she co-wrote and starred in the 1987 play WAITING-- gaining critical acclaim and securing Anne her first agent. She then went onto have an extensive career in television, appearing in many well-known sitcoms and dramas. Anne is most well known for playing the role of Lisa Stemple, the lovable, neurotic sister of Helen Hunt in 133 episodes of MAD ABOUT YOU, for which she has a Screen Actors Guild nomination for Best Ensemble in a Comedy.



Anne can also be seen recurring in over 40 episodes of Freeform’s THE SECRET LIFE OF THE AMERICAN TEENAGER, NBC’s ORDINARY JOE, and the HBO MAX Docuseries EQUAL. She has guest starred on shows such as GREY’S ANATOMY, THE L WORD, HOUSE, CASTLE, WIZARDS OF WAVERLY PLACE, and Andrea Savage’s I’M SORRY, as well as some of the most prolific shows of our time including DEXTER, SIX FEET UNDER and CSI: VEGAS.



On the film side, Anne can be seen opposite Charlize Theron in BOMBSHELL, in Tim Burton’s PLANET OF THE APES, WOMAN ON TOP with Penelope Cruz, CLASS ACTION with Gene Hackman, and A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN -  the experience which Ramsay credits as being beyond life-changing - and a true honor…"Thank you, Penny Marshall, for having me as first basewoman, Helen Haley - I cherished every bit of it." Most recently, Anne received rave reviews at SXSW for her starring role in the independent feature BROOKLYN ’45, which can currently be seen on various streaming platforms. “All thanks goes to Mom”.
