A charming and versatile young actor, DAKOTA SHAPIRO was last seen playing Billy Taupe Clade in the film HUNGER GAMES: THE BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS AND SNAKES. He's widely known for his portrayal of real-life Stephan Paternot, co-founder of the 90's internet startup/social networking service theGlobe.com, in National Geographic's limited hybrid series VALLEY OF THE BOOM. He was also cast in The CW's reboot pilot of the cult classic film THE LOST BOYS, where he played the role of 'David,' originally portrayed by Kiefer Sutherland.

Born in Byron Bay, Australia, Shapiro spent his high school years at the prestigious Idyllwild Arts Academy, a performing and visual arts conservatory located in the mountains of Southern California. It was during this time that he immersed himself in developing his acting skills and received the 2014 Idyllwild Arts Distinguished Artist Award. Eager to further refine his craft, Shapiro pursued studies at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, Wales, where he completed one year of training. Following his passion for acting, he made the leap and moved to Los Angeles.

In 2017, Shapiro had the honor of being included as one of the top ten finalists for the Heath Ledger Scholarship, a prestigious program established in memory of the Australian actor and supported by the organization Australians in Film. The judging panel included esteemed actors such as Gary Oldman, Naomi Watts, and Ryan Murphy. Among his other acting credits, Shapiro has appeared in Showtime's critically acclaimed television series THE AFFAIR and was featured in the indie feature film EYE WITHOUT A FACE, directed by Ramin Niami.
