Terry Walters

RECENT BOOKINGS: GOLD MINE, BABYLON, ALL RISE

Terry Walters was born and raised in New York where she began her professional career in the theatre, as Terry Urdang. She got her start on the stage. Some of her favorite jobs were “Robin” in GODSPELL, “Trixie” in Erin Cressida Wilson’s DAKOTA’S BELLY WYOMING and “Gail” in George Walkers’ play, BETTER LIVING, with Olympia Dukakis and Rob Morrow. The play was directed by Max Mayer with the NY Stage & Film Company.

Terry got her television start on the East Coast in soap operas. She worked on LOVING, ALL MY CHILDREN, ONE LIFE TO LIVE, and AS THE WORLD TURNS, to name a few.  Terry’s film debut was playing Woody Allen’s “sound girl” in CRIMES AND MISDEMEANORS and she starred in Rob Morrow’s directorial and writing debut THE SILENT ALARM, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.

Having grown up doing theatre, Terry enjoyed her new focus on tv and film. She decided to head out west and began working on many shows, along with national commercials and voiceovers. Terry easily transitions from drama to comedy as her credits show: from BONES to CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM, ALL RISE to SANTA CLARITA DIET and EUPHORIA to FACETIMING WITH MOMMY.

Her film work took off, too.  One of her favorite roles, was a homeless woman in the award winning film PLAY DATE honored by over 15 film festivals and is currently available on many platforms.  With a few more indies under her belt, Terry plays the hero’s Mom in MY DEAD DAD, Thomas Mann’s Mom in AS COOL AS I AM, (being a Mom, she loves playing them!) as well as roles in BEGINNERS, THANKS FOR SHARING, and ADAM, (another Sundance award winner).  AND of course, there’s her stand out role of Linda, the coffee shop manager, and Emma Stone’s boss, in Damien Chazelle’s LA LA LAND.  After, LA LA LAND, Terry got to work with Damien again on BABYLON, playing the Kinescope film Editor.

Terry currently has a lead role in the film GOLD MINE, (soon to be released) and just finished a run of the play THE REALISTIC JONESES. So happy to be back to her theatre roots and will have more of that! 

Currently, Terry co-wrote an indie film, that just found it’s producer! AND she will be starring in it.
